The iconic New York City Ballet once again pulls back the curtain and gives viewers a glimpse at the awe-inspiring world of its passionate, dedicated dancers in this twelve-episode docu-series executive-produced by Emmy winner Sarah Jessica Parker
NEW YORK CITY, NY (OCTOBER 27, 2014) – “city.ballet.” a stunning twelve-episode docu-series showcasing the lives of the dancers, choreographers and other artists who comprise New York City Ballet (NYCB), returns with its second season Tuesday, November 4th on AOL Originals.
Set against the gritty backdrop of New York City, “city.ballet.” takes viewers behind the curtain of the country’s foremost dance company. Each installment of this one-of-a-kind series’ sophomore run offers a unique take on what it means to be part of the elite institution, from revealing the challenges of being the youngest artist on an increasingly competitive roster to exploring what it takes to overcome career-threatening injuries and examining the ways in which life changes after the spotlight has inevitably dimmed.
In addition to providing an unprecedented look at life within the company, “city.ballet.” will follow select NYCB dancers as they both thrive and struggle throughout their day-to-day lives. Among those showcased are NYCB Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins, as well as Principals SaraMearns and Chase Finlay.
