Jersey City, NJ – The Liberty Science Center recently completed a functionality upgrade to the video wall in the main entrance area known as PSEG Court. The fiber optic-based upgrade allowed the Liberty Science Center to expand its video presentation capabilities in the space while adding a live feed option.
“Gefen provided the tools we needed to greatly enhance the video experience in one of our most high-traffic areas,” said Joe Colombo, LSC’s Associate Director of Technology Services for Theater Services. “The system was installed by the Center’s in-house team and has been working well with multiple computer sources and consumer devices.”
Content is now delivered to the video wall’s 16 stacked displays using Gefen’s HDMI over Fiber Extender with one strand of multimode fiber optic cable. A Gefen Multiview Seamless Switcher is utilized for live event switching and a Gefen 4×4 HDMI Matrix facilitates the use of additional source devices. Various cables and converters ensure compatibility between various Mac and PC computers.
