NASCAR Stars Taking Over AutoFair with a Personal Vehicle Display April 9-12

Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer and Kurt Busch expected to participate

CONCORD, N.C. (March 20, 2015) – NASCAR fans won’t want to miss the April 9-12 AutoFair at Charlotte Motor Speedway when some of the biggest names in the sport show off their personal vehicles in the Nationwide Showcase Pavilion. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Clint Bowyer, Joey Logano, David Ragan and Ben Kennedy are among the owners of the dozen automobiles that will grace the pavilion as part of the world’s largest automotive extravaganza.

While the drivers themselves won’t be in attendance, fans will be able to get an up-close glimpse at some of their prized possessions, including current Daytona 500 champion Logano’s Rat Rod, a modified 1939 GMC truck.

“I’m pretty excited for everyone to be able to enjoy my Rat Rod at the AutoFair,” said Logano. “It’s just too bad I won’t be able to be there to enjoy all the cool cars they have at the speedway. It’s probably one of the coolest events they have all year long. I definitely grew up with an appreciation of old and classic cars and it’s something I still really follow closely today. I’m always looking for something else to add to my collection. If you love old cars, the AutoFair is the time to visit the speedway for sure.”

Earnhardt Jr., an avid car collector, will have his 2001 Chevrolet Corvette C5-R on display. This yellow masterpiece is a street version of the car he and his father, Dale Earnhardt Sr., drove together at the 2001 Grand American Road Racing Series Rolex 24 at Daytona. The wing on the car is the actual wing that came off of the No. 3 GM Goodwrench/Corvette Racing team’s backup car.

All-time winningest NASCAR driver at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch, will have his 1956 Chevy Bel Air Coupe at the four-day show. The car was recently seen in his and Samantha Busch’s baby announcement photos. He bought the teal and white beauty at the 2014 Barrett Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Other vehicles fans can view during the four-day event include Gordon’s 1952 Oldsmobile Super 88, Kurt Busch’s 1932 Ford Roadster, Bowyer’s custom 1979 Peterbilt 389 pickup truck, Ragan’s 1938 Ford UPS package car and Kennedy’s Verrado Electric Drift Trike, a tricycle with slick rear wheels for drifting, from Local Motors.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway AutoFair annually attracts more than 100,000 visitors, features nearly 50 car club displays and offers a surplus of automotive parts and memorabilia for sale or trade. There’s also a collector car auction conducted by Dealer Auctions Inc., and more than 1,500 collectible vehicles of all makes and models will be available for sale in the car corral that rings the 1.5-mile superspeedway.

AutoFair is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids 13 and under with a paying adult. Parking for the event is $5. For tickets or additional information about AutoFair or other events at Charlotte Motor Speedway, call 1-800-455-FANS or visit our website.
