We are proud to present the Miss America Serves media report, which highlights the comprehensive national and regional media attention generated by Miss America Serves presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. As you will see, the press coverage has been amazing — featuring coverage on national television, print, radio, internet, and social media. With over 330 million unique visitors, Miss America Serves generated a press value of more than $3 million!
The coverage from Entertainment Tonight and The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson helped set the tone for our inaugural national day of community service, and our state organizations continue to express their delight and appreciation for this incredible initiative. On the regional front, our quality partnerships with Gray TV and Hometown Productions helped produce syndicated segments of Miss America 2015 Kira Kazantsev and various Miss America Serves events for local niche markets, highlighting state and local titleholders with the national story line.
In an attempt to encourage the use of social media to promote Miss America Serves, our national office offered ten $1,000 scholarships to the Top 10 states on social media leading up to and during Miss America Serves! This offering helped generate more 5,200 specific posts using the #MissAmericaServes hashtag to promote @CMNHospitals, reaching a social media audience of more than 10.3 million people. These $1,000 awards will benefit the respective states’ scholarship funds. We are finalizing the social media report and will be announcing the winners this week.
We are proud that our state and local participants, along with our national office and Board, helped raise nearly $100,000 for state scholarships and local CMN Hospitals! Of these funds raised through Miss America Serves, 70% will benefit local CMN Hospitals and 30% will benefit each state organization’s scholarship fund. Even after the event, donations keep rolling in and our states are following up with their registered teams to drive donations.
