Corona, CA (April XX, 2015): Now in its 10th season, the Lucas Oil Modified Series is one of the most exciting motor racing ‘shows’ in America. As one of the oldest and most revered form of motorsport, Modified racing has recaptured its fan base, blazing a trail across the West with thrilling Saturday night battles that light up the hearts of grassroots racing aficionados in the stands and the even larger audience on TV. Once considered a local/regional event with ‘good old boy’ local heroes behind the wheels, the 12 round Lucas Oil Modified Series grew exponentially when Lucas Oil entered the fray a decade ago bringing with them national and international sponsors to cast a spotlight on each event and attract national stars to compete in the series.
Now in 2015, LoanMart is the Lucas Oil Modified Series Presenting sponsor, Hoosier Tire West is the Point Fund sponsor, K&N is the Tow sponsor, Sunoco Fuel names the Winners Circle, DJ Safety is the Rookie sponsor and Bilstein Shocks is the ‘B’ Main event sponsor; plus General Tire, E3 Spark Plugs, GEICO, Optima Batteries, Auto Meter, Protect The Harvest, Super Clean, 5 Star Body, NextEra Energy, ASi, Carlyle Tools and the Lucas Oil owned motorsports television network MAVTV, having all thrown their hats into the ring to successfully raise their brand awareness and provide the financial incentives to bring the best Modified racers in the country together.
Race Series Director Greg Scheidecker says, “The past ten years have seen a huge growth in Modified racing. Purses, spectator counts, sponsors and the point fund have all increased as have entries with more than 70 racecars/teams doing battle under the lights. Already we looking forward to putting in place the 2016 schedule as we have requests from track owners to host multiple races – although at this point demand exceeds supply.”
