Glensound’s all new Broadcasters’ Mobile Phone, the GS-MPITB1, will receive its full launch at NAB 2015.
Glensound’s Broadcasters’ Mobile Phone units have been used widely in studios and outside broadcast vehicles for the last 6 years, as a useful 4W for connecting a talkback channel or for monitoring. The Glensound phones use the 2G GSM networks for wide compatibility with other mobile phones or land lines. The arrival of the HD Voice versions in 2012 meant that the Glensound Broadcasters’ Phones could now offer 7kHz audio and be used for on air applications.
The GS-MPITB1 extends the mobile phone range by including direct talkback and hold functions within the same unit. There are 2 x 2G GSM Glensound Broadcasters Mobile Phones. These have independent I/O and require separate SIM cards. The front panel has a speaker and an XLR mic input for a gooseneck mic. The operator then has independent controls to talk back to phone 1 or 2, allowing them to establish the calls directly from the unit front panel. Once established each phone has a separate hold button.
Remote functions allow full access to the talkback mic input, speaker output, the hold buttons, and the talkback buttons. This allows full integration to the master intercom or desk.
The GS-MPTB1is also available in 7 kHz HD Voice version.
The GS-MPTB1 was designed directly from customer requests for a utility interface unit using the mobile phone networks. Marc Wilson, Glensound’s Sales & Marketing Manager, comments that Glensound are always happy to provide customers what they want, “Glensound have set the benchmark in integrating mobile phones into broadcast applications. As our customers’ requirements for phones evolves, Glensound designs will evolve too.”
