Las Vegas-Based ArrowData Receives FAA Approval to Operate Drones for Electronic News Gathering

Las Vegas – May 5, 2015 — ArrowData (www.arrowdata.com), a new aerial data services company that specializes in HD video, data collection, transmission, analytics and distribution services, today announced it has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate drones for electronic news gathering.

This is a significant achievement that makes ArrowData the first company in the country to receive approval to use drones for the purpose of electronic news gathering or ‘AeroJournalism’. ArrowData is also the first Nevada company to receive an exemption by the FAA to fly unmanned aircraft for commercial purposes.

“This approval from the FAA provides tremendous opportunity for our company to pursue AeroJournalism while working with local FAA officials to ensure safe flight operations. Helping news stations of all sizes with the ability to have aerial video is a game changer. This is a tool that stations in all markets will use to better inform the public and we’re proud to be leading the way in this new industry.” said James Fleitz, Vice-President of ArrowData.

News is just one of the many industries ArrowData serves. Through its AeroJournalism program, ArrowData can help news organizations of all types and sizes gather aerial coverage more quickly and cost efficiently than previous technologies allowed.

ArrowData is a veteran-run company that operates from multiple locations in Nevada and is headquartered in Las Vegas. In additional to AeroJournalism, the company’s services are targeted to industries including public safety, utilities, entertainment, survey and training.
