FM’s BIG COMIC-CON ANNOUNCEMENTS!

his year, FM brought their A-game to Comic Con. The crew came loaded with some very big announcements as to the future of the company.
1. #WhoIsForry: Next year would have been the 100th birthday of FM’s founding editor, Forrest J Ackerman. To celebrate and educate, FM has started the #WhoIsForry movement and hashtag to show the world just how much Uncle Forry gave to the world of fandom and to the monster kids. See the video here!
2. ERIC KEYES: Eric has been a designer and illustrator on THE SIMPSONS since season 1. He’ll be joining FM to bring original illustrations to the pages.

AMERICAN GOTHIC PRESS/FM COMICS: While many of you are aware, FM has gotten into the comic book game. Since launching a few months back it’s been a very amazing experience. While you’ve heard a lot about our first two titles, Paul Tobin’s GUNSUITS and BORNHOME, there are some big projects coming up:

BROKEN MOON: After the world’s superpowers go nuclear on one another’s lunar mining colonies, destroying much of the moon, the human population of earth is largely wiped out in the ensuing natural disasters. In the wake of humanity’s near extinction, the monsters that had been banished to the shadows have risen up and seized power. Pre-order at your local comic shop now. In stores in September. W: Steve Niles A: Nat Jones
MONSTER WORLD: Set in 1930s Hollywood, mysterious deaths on the set of World Studios films lead to the hiring of private detective Hank Barrymore. Hank soon finds himself in over his head as his investigation puts him face-to-face with some of Hollywood’s biggest nightmare creatures. As the larger conspiracy unfolds, Hank draws on his experiences fighting in the trenches of WWI to get to the bottom of the mystery before it kills him. W: Steve Niles & Philip Kim A. Piotr Kowalski  Releases later this year.
PROJECT NEMESIS: From the bestselling kaiju novels by Jeremy Robinson. A government experiment splicing DNA from an ancient, giant alien being with that of a little girl results in a massive, skyscraper-sized beast that destroys much of the New England in its hunt for retribution. W: Jeremy Robinson A: Matt Frank Pre-order in September with a release in October.
4. LOST IN SPACE Season 4: You read that right. We’re going to be creating the fourth season of the classic sci-fi series, LOST IN SPACE. . . in comic form. Using the un-produced screenplays from LOST IN SPACE creator Irwin Allen’s collection, American Gothic Press will bring you the continuing adventures of the Robinson family, with all your favorite characters along for the ride. Releasing later this year.
5. RICK BAKER: Our favorite monster maker and original monster kid will be creating another cover for us this coming February, featuring one of his most famous creations that turns 35 next year. That should be enough for all of our fans to figure it out. Just wait, it’s going to be great. Just remember to stay on the road.
6. SO MUCH BRUCE CAMPBELL: Our covers for October will both feature the massive, world-shaking event that is ASH VS. EVIL DEAD. Bruce Campbell returns to the role that made him a legend. To celebrate, both Terry Wolfinger and Sanjulian provide amazing covers for issue 282. The issue includes exclusive interviews with Bruce, Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and series co-star Lucy Lawless. There’s so much more. But you’ll have to wait just a bit longer to get a taste.
