PATHFINDER TALES’ THE REDEMPTION ENGINE WINS SCRIBE AWARD AT COMIC CON

The Redemption Engine by James L. Sutter Named Best Original Novel (Speculative) in Competition with Star Trek, Sleepy Hollow, Grimm, and Fringe

REDMOND, WA (July 13, 2015): Paizo Inc., publisher of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, is thrilled to announce its Pathfinder Tales novel, The Redemption Engine by author James L. Sutter, has won the Scribe Award for Best Original Novel (Speculative) awarded by the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers. The winners were announced this past weekend at San Diego Comic Con. The Redemption Engine tied for first place with Fringe: Sins of the Fathers by Christa Faust.
The Redemption Engine is the sequel to Death’s Heretic, which was released in 2011 and ranked #3 on Barnes & Noble’s Best Fantasy Releases of 2011. The Redemption Engine was in a category alongside novels based on such properties as Star Trek, Sleepy Hollow, Grimm, and Fringe, with other categories including work based on Doctor Who, 24, Stargate, and more. This was the first year Pathfinder Tales received a nomination for a Scribe Award.
About the Author
James L. Sutter is the Executive Editor for Paizo Publishing and a co-creator of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game campaign setting. In addition to The Redemption Engine, he is the author of the novel Death’s Heretic, which was a finalist for the Compton Crook Award for Best First Novel as well as ranked #3 on Barnes & Noble’s list of the Best Fantasy Releases of 2011.
