VSNEXPLORER expands its features with a state-of-the-art integration with Microsoft Azure Media Services

VSNEXPLORER, VSN’s Media Management suite with advanced features for Broadcast, Media and Entertainment is now totally integrated with Azure Media Services, creating an enhanced MAM on Cloud solution that addresses the most demanding media needs of companies operating in the industry. This integration will be presented at the upcoming NAB Show 2016 at VSN’s stand, SL8006.
VSN has successfully carried out a full integration of its Media Asset Management software and its modules with the Microsoft Azure platform. Now, VSNEXPLORER benefits from Azure Media Services for all its media stored at Microsoft’s platform, enabling interesting actions and enhancing workflows for companies with media management needs.
Thanks to Azure, VSNEXPLORER can now work as a Video on Demand (VoD) or Live Streaming platform without bandwidth constraints thanks to the integration with Azure’s CDN. Also, thanks to Azure Media Player, VSNEXPLORER incorporates MPEG-DASH support, multi-device and DRM management, protection and encryption provided by AES, PlayReady, Widevine and fairPlay.
This way, VSN keeps integrating its media management solutions with the most demanded features in the market. These features enable advanced automatic cataloguing, such as speech-to-text processes in multiple languages, allowing the user to run text searches on the audio layer. The system also delivers, together with the text, the segments with its mark-in and mark-out times, allowing for automatic generation of subtitles in several languages. All of that, indexed in the system so it can be easily searched and retrieved.
Some other relevant features included in VSNEXPLORER thanks to this integration are: adult content automatic detection, advanced cloud transcoding in multiple formats, face blurring in videos, automatic detection of content (fingerprinting), and many others.
“We are very excited with the results of our synergies with Microsoft Azure and our integration with its Media Services; our flagship product really benefits from this state-of-the-art solution,” declares Jordi Utiel, CEO at VSN. “We truly believe that VSNEXPLORER, our Media Asset Management system, has taken a huge step ahead by incorporating so many new features, becoming an enhanced system that really solves nowadays needs and that is already prepared for what’s next to come.”
“The Broadcast, Media and Entertainment work environments need, more than ever, to be capable of managing its content with all the advanced features that cloud technologies can provide,” declares Tony Emerson, Managing Director, Worldwide Media & Cable Industry at Microsoft Corp. “The integration of VSNEXPLORER and its modules with Azure Media Services allows its users to develop efficient, collaborative and flexible cloud workflows that highly improve efficiency and productivity.”
Thanks to the integration with Azure, VSN brings all the power of the cloud to its star solution with a renewed Pay-per-Use payment mode, without initial costs (Opex model), creating collaborative workflows that increase client’s efficiency. This integration will be presented for the first time at the upcoming NAB Show 2016 in Las Vegas (USA). Attendees to this trade show will be able to bear witness of all the possibilities of this integration at VSN’s stand, SL8006.
