Logline:
It isn’t easy being a writer, lost in your own world with girlfriends to maintain and sexy lodgers to deal with…

Synopsis:
Jack is a struggling writer who takes in a sexy lodger to pay the bills. She slowly starts to move in on his life and their relationship begins to spin out of control.

Director’s Statement
Scribblings deals with an issue within creativity itself, namely how lost do I have to be to find what I am creating? Any creative and especially writers, often lose themselves once an imaginative work is in progress. The only questions are how far will the writer disappear down the rabbit hole? And will the writer be changed or the same when they return?

Director’s Biography
Oscar started his film career in post- production in 2007 in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. His very first job -lugging around raid arrays during a thunderstorm – shows his unerring sense of timing! He earned his stripes in an MCR, moving into online and offline editing, and finally post- production supervision, most notably for The Invincibles and Sea Point Days, both broadcast internationally in 2010.

Oscar then decided that being a technician was all good and well, but that he needed to move into creative work. He started directing and making music videos, the odd commercial and began writing obsessively.

Taking a brief hiatus from 2011 until 2013 to do some paid work in marketing in London, he returned to writing and filmmaking in 2014, writing and directing two short films, Scribblings, and T-Junction, which is currently in post-production.

Oscar presently resides in Cape Town where he continues to write obsessively focussing on his full-length screenplays, Blood Moon, Poppie and an African Style Western, between walking his dog and fighting his very personal war on his unruly garden and green swimming pool.
