HERB ALPERT CATALOGUE CONFIRMED FOR WORLD WIDE RE–ISSUE

Following the hugely successful re–release of ‘Whipped Cream & Other Delights’ and ‘Christmas Album’ at the end of 2015, on September 9 2016, legendary musician HERB ALPERT will re–release 24 classic albums from his illustrious career on CD with a further four titles to be released on LP.

Each individual title has been remastered from the original analog tape mixes by Grammy–winning mastering engineer Bernie Grundman. Grundman, who was the original mastering engineer on many of the original Tijuana Brass and Alpert albums, also mastered and hand cut all four of the new vinyl re–releases using a specially designed lathe.

All releases, several of which have been out of print for a number of years (in Europe, some have not been available in over 30 years!), will be presented with their original art work, making this collection must have for the Herb Alpert fan!

To generations of music fans, Alpert is the dark–haired, trumpet playing songmaker whose name instantly brings to mind memorable songs like The Lonely Bull, A Taste of Honey, This Guy’s in Love with You and Rise. These are but a few of the tunes Alpert recorded either as leader of the legendary Tijuana Brass or as an artist in his own right, yielding five #1 popular hits, 9 Grammy awards, 14 Platinum and 15 gold albums – plus a staggering 72 million albums sold worldwide.

To musicians world–wide, Alpert’s name implies an immediately recognisable and distinctly relaxed, economically spoken instrumental style. To the entire music business, Alpert remains the “A” in A&M Records, one of the most visionary record labels of the last half century, his success as a Broadway producer with a talent for sniffing out prize–winning theatre, and his philanthropic work which has seen his foundation donate millions to worthy causes.
