The cinema historian brings his beloved series “Maltin on Movies” exclusively to Nerdist’s acclaimed podcast hub
Burbank, CA (July 15, 2016) Iconic film critic and cinema historian Leonard Maltin is joining the Nerdist Podcast Network. Beginning Friday, July 15th, Maltin’s beloved podcast, “Maltin on Movies,” will be available to stream and download exclusively on Nerdist.com.
“I’m delighted to become part of the Nerdist universe, because if there’s anything I’m proud of, it’s being a nerd,” Maltin shared of his series’ new home.
“Maltin on Movies” centers on the eponymous film critic and his love of talking about movies – especially with those who share his enthusiasm, like his daughter Jessie and such notable film buffs as Alec Baldwin, Fred Willard, Doug Benson and Gilbert Gottfried, to name a few. The conversations always include recommendations of films you ought to check out, especially those unsung gems Maltin is so passionate about championing. You don’t have to be a buff to enjoy the show—after all, everyone loves movies.
Leonard Maltin is perhaps best-known for his long-running paperback best-seller Leonard Maltin’s Movie Guide and its companion volume, Leonard Maltin’s Classic Movie Guide. He spent thirty years on TV’s Entertainment Tonight and is seen regularly on ReelzChannel and Turner Classic Movies. He is the author of innumerable books and articles about films. He also coproduced and hosted the popular Walt Disney Treasures DVD series. He teaches at the USC School for Cinematic Arts and holds court at www.leonardmaltin.com.
