Unlike LCS, All-Star Event, Mid-Season Invitational, and the World Championship, LEC was not included in the multi-year, global deal between Riot Games and Secretlab.
Chris Katzer, Partnership Manager at AKRacing discussed the partnership in a release: “We are beyond ecstatic to be making our entry into the world that is League of Legends via our 2020 LEC Season partnership. Together with Riot Games, we’re able to share our passion for gaming and comfort as we bring our premium chairs to the players of the European Championship.”

Other partners of the LEC for the upcoming season include Alienware, Kia Motors, and HUYA – the latter of which will live stream its gameplay to Chinese viewers as part of a newly-announced deal that also includes the LCS.
LEC kicks off its 2020 season with the opening day of the Spring Split on January 24th.
Esports Insider says: LEC has done a great job at bringing in companies with big names outside of esports, this deal is entirely different as AKRacing isn’t as well known as its competitors within the industry. That being said, the LEC is a solid entry point for it into ‘mainstream’ esports and this partnership looks to be a standard one all things considered.
