In announcing his new position, Gundersen said: “After a good time at North Esports, I am thrilled to announce that I am joining one of the most iconic brands within esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, as Chief Operating Officer, [starting] 1st of January. I’ll be focusing on our B2B, B2C & esports efforts, while of course helping the awesome Hicham Chahine scale the already great group of people in the organization, to help solidify our position as a global brand within entertainment for the next decade. [It’s] an absolute dream job for me with the perfect trifecta of sales, building great teams and finally execution of startup scaling.”
Gundersen joins Ninjas in Pyjamas after a 10 month tenure at North, where he oversaw a partnership with prominent audio company Sennheiser as recently as August. A former Counter-Strike 1.6 professional, Gundersen played competitively for SK Gaming (and plenty of other organisations) over a five-year career that ended in 2005.

Ninjas in Pyjamas competes in a slew of esports titles, with well-established teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Dota 2, and Rainbow Six Siege.
Esports Insider says: Former esports professionals often appear to be shoehorned into awkward business roles without adequate experience; Gundersen’s impressive CV would suggest that is not the case here. It will be intriguing to see what he can do with an organisation as large as NiP.
