China publishes national standards for esports practitioners
China published national standards for esports practitioners, including job description, basic requirements, and job requirements. The requirement of professional skills and knowledge is mentioned in the standards, too. After publishing such standards, the Chinese government now aims to produce standardized esports textbooks and grant certificates for esports practitioners.
Super League Gaming partners with Wanda Cinemas Games
North American esports platform Super League Gaming recently announced a deal with Wanda Cinemas Games, the subsidiary of Wanda Group. According to the partnership, over 700 Wanda cinemas will provide access to esports events. Additionally, Wanda’s cinemas will host Super League Gaming’s tournaments in China.

HUYA obtains exclusive broadcast rights for 2020 LEC and LCS in China
Chinese live streaming platform HUYA announced the acquisition of the exclusive broadcast rights for LEC and LCS in China. HUYA is the first live streaming platform to obtain broadcast rights for LCK, LEC, LCS, and LPL in mainland China.
A spokesman for HUYA commented: “Huya has a large layout in China for the League of Legends e-sports market. In this year, Huya has garnered the exclusive broadcaster rights to LEC and LCS, and a 3-year exclusive broadcaster rights to LCK from 2020 to 2022. The agreement brought Huya and Riot Games into an unprecedented level of cooperation. We wish League of Legends fans could get the best viewing experience in Huya, the highly engaged and interactive game live streaming community, and look forward to more cooperation with Riot Games in the next few years.”

Dalian successfully hosts WCAA esports international university competition
The 2020 World Cyber Athletics Arena (WCAA) esports international university competition recently took place in Dalian with five countries’ university students participating in the event, namely China, India, Russia, Canada, and Malaysia. The tournament provided a platform for young players to showcase their skills with a total prize pool of 1.92 million RMB (GBP211,480).
