With coronavirus currently halting much of traditional sports, operators are looking for new sports business avenues. Esports has managed to keep things moving due to its online nature, thrusting it into a more prominent position in the mainstream.
EveryMatrix can now offer its clients access to markets such as FIFA, NBA 2K, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and Dota 2.

EveryMatrix’s ‘esports hosted solution’ provides the opportunity for bookmakers to put esports in front of sports bettors by creating a new tab or menu item. OddsMatrix, a sports data aggregation technology, fully hosts and manages the feature and can be integrated in two weeks – according to a release.
Ebbe Groes, CEO of EveryMatrix, commented on the move in a release: “Along with virtual sports, esports are very much in focus during this sensitive situation. For esports, we’ve seen an enormous increase in turnover in the past weeks, and we’re expecting to see the numbers go up even more. This is a clear indicator that esports are ready to step up into the mainstream and can also appeal to regular bettors, not only to computer games enthusiasts.
“In particular betting on sports-based computer games such as FIFA and NBA2K are extremely popular as an easy cross-over for traditional sports players. This can generate much-needed revenues in these wobbly times.”
Esports Insider says: EveryMatrix will no doubt be taken up on this offer in places where esports betting is allowed. With sports effectively on pause, it’s time for esports to step up in all avenues – that certainly includes betting.
