The size of the drones allows teams to compete in a variety of landmark locations, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Great Wall of China. Moreover, with the partnership lasting until 2024, GRID will be bringing the data from the events to market via its network of regulated bookmakers and media clients.
Mike Hoehsl, DCL CEO, added: “Our team at Drone Champions League is delighted to join with a data partner which has the caliber and gravitas of GRID.
“Our events are pandemic proof, positioning DCL as the most exciting spectator sport over the coming decades. Combining our tech with an audience that is eager for content and engagement products produced by GRID’s data service, we believe we are poised to transform the racing ecosystem.”
Esports Insider Says: GRID’s 2020 has been filled with major partnerships and aggressive plays to stake a firm hold in the esports ecosystem, and this agreement is no different. DCL has seen a huge rise in popularity since its inception in 2016 and this is a deal looking towards what could be the future of esports.
