Aquatik Esports, a Florida-based esports organisation that fields competitive teams and hosts community events, has announced the hiring of a new vice president, Rob Borm.
Borm, who was previously the Associate Publisher at Game Informer magazine, has joined Aquatik Esports as the firm’s Vice President of Sales and Sponsorships.

Additionally, Aquatik Esports has announced plans to expand its slate of online competitions, including a ‘community mashup series’ aimed at entry-level competitors. The firm also just launched its online store, 7seas.gg, which includes products from sponsors along with apparel, snacks, gaming accessories, and more. The shop also features a customer loyalty programme.
“Whether it’s at the league level, integrating with specific tournaments or engaging with Aquatik’s lineup of franchised livestreams, there are multiple ways for brands to effectively engage with our rapidly growing base of followers,” said Borm, in a release. “The recent ‘Built Bar Cup’ tournament and ‘Gigabyte Lounge’ are examples of effective integrations that moved the needle for our brand partners. In addition, having the ability to offer our new online store as added value to partners promotes an immediate and smooth path-to-purchase.”
Aquatik Esports was founded in March by parent company Horizon Cloud, a firm focused on technology for events, ecommerce, and related verticals. The organisation puts a particular focus on the areas of climate change awareness and ocean conservation efforts as part of its mission, fusing those elements within its various competitive and community offerings. Aquatik counts Razer and AORUS as endemic partners, along with protein bar brand Built.

Esports Insider says: It seems like early days for Aquatik Esports, but it’ll be interesting to see how Borm uses his game industry connections to help expand the company’s reach and enhance its cause.
