The VALORANT roster will compete in the first season of the Champions Tour under the Version1 banner, alongside its Rocket League team that was unveiled in August 2020 following the launch of the brand.
Brett Diamond, Chief Operating Officer at Version1, spoke on the rebrand in a release: “The timing is right to align our organizational initiatives under the Version1 brand. With three competitive esports teams and plans ahead for continued growth and diversification of our content, we’ve reached an important milestone.
“Support from fans of Røkkr and Version1 has been amazing, and we look forward to continuing to build our fan community nationally and here in Minnesota.”

Since the brand launched, Version1 has amassed a following of nearly 160,000 across a range of social media platforms alongside recruiting over 20 members of staff. As per the release, plans for growth include signing content creators and expansion to the organisation’s content and production capabilities.
Jonathan Wilf, Ownership Partner and President of Version1, commented on the brand’s entrance into VALORANT: “With Riot Games at the helm, we’re confident VALORANT will thrive as an esport just as League of Legends has over the past several years.”
Esports Insider says: Consolidating its assets and moving them under one roof is certainly a smart move for Version1, which is intent on expanding its offerings as the year goes on.
