Danish esports organisation Astralis has secured a partnership with telecommunications company 3 (Three) for its newly-built Astralis Nexus facility in Copenhagen.

As a part of the partnership, 3 and Astralis will produce content and initiatives aimed at showing ‘positive gaming experiences’ to gamers, parents and the community. In addition, 3 will be the facility’s 5G network provider.

The partnership will be focused completely on the organisation’s new centre for gaming, entertainment and education in Copenhagen. Astralis Nexus features gaming PC stations, training facilities for Astralis teams, as well as a merchandise shop and streaming studios.

Jesper Thyssen, Marketing Director at 3, commented: “We want to take gaming seriously and bring families closer together in a greater understanding of how gaming can provide positive experiences, as well as new friendships and communities. In this connection, Astralis is a fantastic partner as this is how they work, combining gaming and physical activities.”

The Astralis Nexus is set to open between February 4th-6th, with a number of activities planned for visitors. Astralis and 3 have not shared details of the initiatives both entities have planned.

Kasper Sindt, Commercial Director of Astralis, noted: “At Astralis, we have entered into many commercial partnership agreements, but the one with 3 is the first that is based 100 percent around Astralis Nexus, with the sole focus to create the best gaming experiences for everyone, regardless of age, gender, level or other differences. We see endless opportunities to combine the digital and physical communities, and in the opening weekend next week we will present some of the many new initiatives in Nexus, Kasper Sindt explains.”

Esports Insider says: Astralis’s new HQ and gaming centre in Copenhagen is set to open in early February, and it’s interesting that the 3 partnership only ties in with the facility. If the deal proves to be a success, it could pave the way for 3 to pursue more partnership opportunities with Astralis in the future.
