Evil Geniuses appoints Caroline Young as Director of Corporate Partnerships

North American esports organisation Evil Geniuses has named Caroline Young, formally of the Los Angeles Sparks, as its Director of Corporate Partnership.

Young will focus on negotiating and securing new partnerships for the organisation, whilst also bringing Evil Geniuses’ brand to new audiences.

As the new leader of Evil Geniuses’ Corporate Partnership division, Young will also focus on improving and nurturing existing partnerships.

Young most recently worked as the VP of Corporate Partnerships for WNBA team the Los Angeles Sparks. She has more than a decade of experience in the commercial sector and was one of the key figures responsible for growing sponsorship revenue for the Sparks. According to the release, the Los Angeles Sparks led the WNBA in sponsorship revenue in 2019 and 2020.

Nicole LaPointe Jameson, the CEO of Evil Geniuses, noted: “Cay Young is one of the foremost leaders in corporate sponsorships in the sports world and will play a pivotal role for Evil Geniuses as we welcome new brands into the gaming and esports industry.

“During her time with the Los Angeles Sparks, Young proved over and over that she is an expert at identifying influential brands and building the trust with them that’s required to be successful together.”

Young is the latest hire in Evil Geniuses’ steadily growing leadership team. The North American esports organisation recently hired former WarnerMedia executive Krystal Hauserman as Head of Marketing. In addition, Evil Geniuses secured a number of partnerships in 2021, including a deal with Premier League team Wolverhampton and LG Electronics.

Esports Insider says: Evil Geniuses hit the bullseye with the addition of Caroline Young. She was instrumental to the growth of the Los Angeles Sparks and has vast experience when it comes to growing revenue opportunities. It’ll be exciting to see what Young brings to the table in 2022.
