The Pittsburgh Knights announced in a release that the NFT holders will get ‘multiple benefits’. These include a special merchandise store, premium video content and a private chat with the organisation’s noteworthy members. The number of the NFT’s that will be released was not mentioned by the companies.
The Knights are backed by rapper Wiz Khalifa, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers and a number of other high-profile investors. This partnership is the first NFT partnership for the Knights, but is the latest in a number of high-profile cooperations for Theta. The company has recently partnered with Katy Perry, Jukin Media, Fuse Media, Fremantle and the World Poker Tour.
Matt Roche, Business Development Director for the Pittsburgh Knights, commented on the deal: “As an organisation, it’s a main goal of ours to share opportunities and access with gaming fans – it’s something that we do with our events, community programs, our pug lobbies and now with Theta Labs, we’ll be able to do that with NFT’s.
“We’re really looking forward to providing gaming-focused digital tokens for the esports community so that they can partake in the NFT experience in a way that truly speaks to them.”

Esports Insider says: The Pittsburgh Knights are the latest esports organisation to have an NFT partnership. The concept of ‘drops’ is also very similar to the way exclusive merchandise is offered to consumers, and it looks as though NFT holders will have some solid benefits, however, we will have to wait for the first drop to see more details.
