Earnin Hires Amazon Alums for Chief Product Officer, VP of People Roles

PALO ALTO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Earnin, the leader in building products for a more equitable financial system and a better life for those living paycheck to paycheck, today announced the appointment of Yair Rivlin as Chief Product Officer and Anne Marie DePaul Haddock as Vice President of People. In their respective roles, Rivlin will focus on scaling Earnin’s robust product roadmap and DePaul Haddock will continue to strengthen the company’s positive, mission-focused culture.

“Our people are our greatest asset, and the experience Yair and Anne Marie bring to Earnin from their tenure at Amazon aligns with our customer-first approach to offer financial wellness products that work for people,” said Ram Palaniappan, Founder and CEO of Earnin. “They both have a proven track record of successfully driving initiatives that prioritize customers and employees and drive impact, which will help us further strengthen our suite of tools to help stabilize and grow people’s financial futures.”

With over 15 years of experience driving significant revenue growth through product development, go-to-market and customer acquisition strategies, Rivlin joins Earnin from his previous position as director of home productivity for Alexa at Amazon’s famed innovation unit, Lab126. In his role, he designed Alexa’s productivity offerings helping customers manage their schedule and daily tasks via programs such as calendar, reminders, timers, alarms, notes, and weather. Prior to this, he was the general manager for Amazon Transparency, a product serialization and counterfeit prevention program that ensured the integrity of the Amazon marketplace. He also worked on Amazon’s Payments team, leading product for the U.S. and global gift card business across all distribution channels.

“Earnin presents an exciting opportunity. It’s already seeing tremendous market traction, but the space is large and I am excited to help the team invent and develop meaningful financial solutions for customers,” said Rivlin. “I’m committed to building the company’s suite of tools that help people, reduce stress, gain peace of mind and, ultimately, reach financial well-being.”

Well-poised for Earnin’s growth, DePaul Haddock has in-depth expertise in global human resource strategy with a particular specialization in organizational development/design, executive coaching and change management. Prior to joining Earnin, she led a global team as the Head of Human Resources for Amazon Music during a five-and-a-half-year period of rapid growth. For the first eighteen months of her tenure at Amazon, she applied her skills in industrial and organizational psychology to “hire the best” by implementing an assessment worldwide that replaced interviews for fulfillment center and customer service roles. DePaul Haddock pursued her Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology at Florida Institute of Technology while also serving as an adjunct instructor, teaching online psychology courses to students. She also previously served as the VP of human resources at Ready Pac Foods, Inc.

“With the rate of inflation, growing demands for financial wellness products, and the Great Resignation, I saw immediate value in Earnin’s products for both employees and employers alike,” said DePaul Haddock. “I admire Earnin’s customer first and community member-centric culture and I look forward to expanding this diverse team that constantly generates new ideas and delivers an unmatched customer experience.”

Together, Rivlin and DePaul Haddock will support Earnin in solving the challenge of the traditional two-week pay cycle, especially as inflation continues to increase and 64% of the U.S. population lives paycheck-to-paycheck. Earnin remains focused on innovation and the speed with which a person’s own pay is accessible to them. Those that face the liquidity gap between paydays are often choosing from bad options, or have no options at all. Earnin provides more choices that help them effectively balance their finances to manage their life.

Rivlin and DePaul Haddock join the team on the heels of Earnin being awarded on the Forbes list of America’s Best Startup Employers 2022. The company’s fourth placement on the annual award. HR, Payroll and Benefits leaders interested in implementing earned wage access (EWA) for their employees can join Earnin at HRD Collective on May 24.
