The Pokemon Company has released a new trailer for the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games for Nintendo Switch.

The 14-minute video, embedded below, provides an in-depth look at the new titles, showcasing the adventures that four trainers experience. One trainer is seen battling a wild Lechonk, Terastallizing his Quaxly to defeat the wild Pokemon. Later, the same trainer infiltrates the base of Team Star, Scarlet and Violet’s villainous team.

The video also introduces another new Pokemon: Farigiraf, a new evolved form of Girafarig. This Pokemon can have one of two new abilities: Cud Chew or Armor Tail. If Farigiraf has Cud Chew and eats a berry, it will eat that berry again at the end of the next turn. Armor Tail, meanwhile, prevents the opposing Pokemon from using priority moves like Sucker Punch.

The Pokemon Company has been steadily releasing new details about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in the lead up to their launch. Last month, we got a look at a new Diglett-like Pokemon called Wiglett. Musician Ed Sheeran also teamed with Pokemon for a new song, Celestial, which will be featured in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will launch for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 18. As an extra bonus, everyone who purchases one of the titles before Feb. 28, 2023, will be able to receive a special Pikachu in their game. This Pikachu knows the move Fly — an attack it typically can’t learn — and becomes a flying type when it Terastallizes.

Ahead of the games, Nintendo is also releasing a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet-themed Switch OLED model, on Nov. 4. This system comes with scarlet and violet Joy-Cons, while the dock features the legendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon.
