Jamestown, Indiana – – The 2015 King of the Wing national event schedule continues to come together. Series officials announced that they have secured the same weekends and tracks from the 2014 west coast tour for the 2015 season.

The series will open their west coast swing on Friday, November 20th at the 3/8 mile Speedway in Madera, California. “We are so excited that the King of the Wing sprint car series will be returning to Madera Speedway”, stated Kenny Shepherd, President and General Manager of Madera Speedway.

He went on to say, “Although this race is still 10 months out we are planning to make this a spectacular event for the entire family. Pack your bags, load up the RV or SUV, make your motel reservations, gather the family and head out to Madera Speedway this will be an event you will not want to miss.” For additional information about Madera Speedway and what they have planned for this race go to their website, www.racemadera.com.

The series continues on to Irwindale Speedway, just east of Los Angeles on Saturday November 21st. Irwindale opened in March of 1999 and had never hosted a winged sprint car race until last November’s KOTW event.

“Our fans had never seen winged sprint cars on this track, it was just mind blowing how these drivers can maneuver these cars at the speeds they do.  We could not be happier that the series will return here in 2015.” said Doug Stokes, VP Communications at Irwindale.   For more about Irwindale Speedway: www.irwindalespeedway.com.

“KCRP will be special that Sunday afternoon when we honor the Triple Crown winners; the winner of the Kern County race, the West Coast series winner, and the crowning of the National Champion King of the Wing.” For track specific information visit KCRP’s website, www.kernraceway.com.

Series promoter, Davey Hamilton, had this to say about the west coast schedule, “…We’re excited to bring this action-packed new series back to these tracks, the fans were exceptional and track officials and staffs all went out of their way to make sure the series had what we needed to ensure the success of each event.”

The “King of the Wing” series is designed to work with all teams, promoters, fans and sponsors, to strengthen pavement winged sprint car racing from coast to coast, working directly with all existing pavement sprint car series.

Long term plans for the series are to provide a competitive rules package that can apply to all sprint cars and create race events that truly allows the promoters and racers to build bigger venues, show the sponsors and fans the world’s fastest short track cars, and to promote some of the best short track drivers competing head-to-head no matter what part of the country they’re from or what series they run on a regular basis.

This is the only pavement sprint car series that features competitors from across the United States and Canada. For more information on the King of the Wing Sprint Car Series please go to: www.kingofthewing.net
