Ace Cafe Orlando and AIMExpo Announce “Saturday Night Rock Up” Concert at Third Annual Event in Orlando

Vintage Boogieman Rockin’ Jason D. Williams to Perform on October 17 at Garage Party

IRVINE, Calif. (October 15, 2015) – The American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo), in conjunction with Ace Cafe Orlando, announced today that Memphis rockabilly artist Rockin’ Jason D. Williams will perform at the “Saturday Night Rock Up” concert, part of the inaugural AIMExpo Garage Party, on October 17. The concert will take place on the AIMExpo show floor inside Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). All AIMExpo attendees with either an admission ticket or a show badge are welcome to attend the performance.

The rock ‘n’ roll history of Memphis looms large in Williams’ world. He recorded for RCA and Sun Records in the 1980s and ’90s, returned to the recording fold in 2010, and has continued steady ever since. A wild man onstage, Williams accredits influences like Jerry Lee Lewis, Moon Mullican, Memphis Slim, and Al Jolson for helping to develop his vast repertoire and seemingly endless energy.
Williams will take the AIMExpo stage at 6:30p.m. EST for an exciting 90-minute set of his greatest hits.
“I have always welcomed the comparisons [to other musicians], and my influences were some of the greatest entertainers ever to be seen,” says Williams, who does more than 160 shows a year. “The Ace Cafe had one of the first jukeboxes ever in London, and you can bet every one of those records in that box had an affect on me.”
Williams has spent a lifetime behind the piano, connecting with rock ‘n’ roll and country greats while creating a persona that’s 100-percent original. “Don’t Get None Onya,” released in 2004, captured the power of his blend of Memphis rock ‘n’ roll and honky-tonk country, and was the birth of his own label.
“Rockin,” “Killer Instincts,” and “Recycled” soon followed. The latest album “Hillbillies and Holy Rollers,” produced by fellow honky-tonker Dale Watson, has been so well-received that Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country channel is featuring Jason D on its first-ever cruise this February.
“Ace’s ‘Saturday Night Rock Up’ show is a part of the Garage Party showcase, and having Jason on it, well, let’s just say he’s going to blow the doors off the place,” said Steve Glum, Chief Marketing Officer for Ace Cafe North America. “The moment you see Jason hit those keys, you’ll understand why he’s been called the second coming of the ‘The Killer’ himself.”

The show will be hosted in conjunction with Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum (sailorjerry.com), Red Torpedo Clothing (redtorpedo.com), and MOTOTV (mototvnetwork.com).
Ace Cafe, the legendary British hub for bikes, cars, and rock ’n roll events, is on track to open its first U.S. location in downtown Orlando in early 2016. The Ace has been a featured exhibitor since the inaugural AIMExpo in 2013, providing an impressive collection of vintage motorcycles & cafe racers, celebrating the Speed Thrills culture, as well as showcasing the world-famous Ace Cafe London retail apparel. This year’s concert again cements the partnership between AIMExpo and the Ace, following up last year’s performance by “The Stray Cats” Lee Rocker, and serves to further solidify the cafe’s presence stateside.
“Ace Cafe continues to be a great partner for AIMExpo, and has been here with us since the beginning,” said Larry Little, AIMExpo Vice President and General Manager. “Providing great, live rock ’n roll shows is now becoming a tradition and provides something new and exciting to the show each year.”
