Miss America Betty Cantrell will travel to our nation’s capital on Monday, May 30th to perform in the 2016 National Memorial Day Parade hosted by the American Veterans Center. The American Veterans Center in Washington, D.C. inaugurated the National Memorial Day Parade in 2005. Since then, the parade has grown into the largest Memorial Day event in the nation, with several hundred thousand spectators and a national television broadcast on REELZ Channel, along with coverage to our troops serving around the world on American Forces Network. It will be televised in Washington, D.C. on News Channel 8, and streamed live on Military.com.
The Parade will include floats, high school marching bands, veterans, service members, local celebrities, service organizations, clubs and much more. It is a family-friendly spectacular aimed to call attention to the true meaning of Memorial Day.
The Miss America Organization wishes everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend!
