Acting as Vodafone Giants’ official energy drink, Red Bull is also a partner of the Giants Fighter Dojo – the organisation’s headquarters in Barcelona, Spain that was opened earlier this year in February. The facility is dedicated to fighting games, acting as a hub for competitors across its home nation.

Jose Ramon Diaz, CEO of Giants Gaming, said the partnership is “one more step in the evolution of our brand, since having a company like Red Bull by our side, which is the world’s leading exponent of sports sponsorship, is another confirmation of the club’s growth.”

Vodafone Giants acquired its domestic rival x6tence earlier this month, just a matter of days after announcing that it had secured EUR3 million (GBP2.7 million) in its latest funding round. As well as its naming rights sponsorship with Vodafone, Giants Gaming is partnered with the likes of Nike, Chupa Chups, and Font Vella.

A representative of Red Bull Spain added: “The beginning of this agreement with Vodafone Giants reassures the company’s commitment to the esports sector, we cannot imagine a better travel companion for our journey through a market niche that will grow dramatically in the upcoming years.”

Esports Insider says: Vodafone Giants has been a roll in 2020, securing major partnerships, raising significant funds, and acquiring the competition to bolster its operations and offering. Red Bull is no stranger to esports by any means but this seems like a pretty solid match.
