Vancouver Titans renews partnership with Circle K

Overwatch League franchise Vancouver Titans has renewed its partnership with Canadian convenience store chain Circle K.

The partnership will feature new fan engagement activations while continuing existing ones, including six, limited edition Titans Froster collector cups that feature the team’s new roster.

Tim Holloway, Esports Director at Vancouver Titans, spoke on the continued partnership in a release: “We are thrilled to have Circle K as an integral part of the Titans family; they have been supporting us and our fans since day one and we look forward to doing bigger and better things through our partnership.”

Circle K will be prominently displayed on player jerseys, consistent with the official apparel worn at the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals. The collector’s cups will be available this summer in Circle K’s stores across Western Canada.

Dave Greason, Director of Marketing & Merchandising at Circle K Western Canada, added: “We’re excited to be able to continue our partnership with the Titans. We have all been through so much these past few months and we can’t wait to add back some FUN into our new normal. We are lucky to be part of this immensely passionate gaming community. Gaming used to be niche, but now it is mainstream. We’re looking forward to engaging with this community in new ways.”

Several in-market activations with Circle K will also include brand partner Jack Links, such as a digital fan scavenger hunt later in the season. Since the Titans released its entire roster in May, brand content will be focused around introducing the team’s new players: Randall “Roolf” Stark, Carson “CarCar” First, Abtin “ShRedlock” Shirvani, Niclas “sHockWave” Smidt Jensen, Dalton “Dalton” Bennyhoff, Alhumaidi “KSAA” Alruwaili, and Samir “Tsuna” Ikram.

Esports Insider says: Titans parent company Canucks Sports and Entertainment shocked the OWL community in May by scrapping its entire team and starting over. Since new players Roolf and ShRedlock both hail from Canada, it makes sense that the Titans would want to build stronger ties with the local fan base. That is, after all, the whole idea behind having localised teams in the league.
