This is the 2021 Mazda CX-30, an hot subcompact crossover with a newly turbocharged engine for maximum fun.

A 2.5-liter turbo I4 pushes out 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, though that’s only if you’re running 93-octane fuel.

If you’re running 87 octane fuel, expect 227 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

The turbocharged CX-30 is only available with all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission.

The CX-30 Turbo is happy to be chucked into corners, and nicely handles them thanks to Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control Plus tech.

The CX-30 also has an off-road mode which switches up the all-wheel-drive system to reduce wheel slip.

Every turbocharged CX-30 gets advanced driver’s aids like full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-departure mitigation and blind-spot monitoring.

The CX-30 Turbo gets an EPA fuel rating of 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined.

Cargo space is on the smaller side, with 20.2 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up, expanding to 45.2 cubes when folded down.
