Our Short trailer Tour Guide *Useful for finding the best of our player-built realms

Cubic Castles is a newly-created sandbox game that combines beauty, platforming, and world-building into one spectacular package!

Development:
Development began with a friendly manipulative environment that would satisfy a player’s desire to craft, mine, and build. It expanded with a the addition of wide variety of decorative blocks, then mischievous interactive block were introduced to add the fun of parkour and RPG into the game experience. Player customization allows for a truly individual experience. A unique collection of costume pieces, from nerd glasses to top hats and bunny tails, allow the players to express themselves. Already in development for future inclusion are: monsters, disappearing platforms, a broadened range of environment controls and other fun obstacles from the platforming game pantheon.

Gameplay:
There are many different ways to experience this virtual world. Many players create 3D challenges: parkour runs, puzzles and 3D platformer games. These they then play in and use to challenge friends. Our players hold competitions and challenges as well as build collaboratively. Some players choose to create mini role-playing worlds. With our rooms-within-realms gameplay structure, multi-layered, infinite worlds, filled with details, can be created easily. Talented block artists have also been making elaborate, epic buildings and other fantastic structures worthy of architectural praise.

Free-to-play model:
Cubic Castles is a free-to-play game that is gratifying and agreeable. There are no build times, no dual currencies or the feeling you need to “buy to win”. Players are rewarded with gifts of the in-game currency, Cubits, when they mine. Purchase-only items are limited to special premium pieces. Nearly all of the items in the world are craftable with resources you can mine for free.

Multiplayer aspects:
The game has an MMO structure, so players can easily share what they make and explore what is being created by others, as well as build cooperatively. To create a safe environment for everyone, there is a profanity filter and parental controls. Parents can choose to have their children exposed to as much or as little of the online experience as they would like. An account can be set up with a separate parent password to control settings, with a range of limits up to zero chat and friendship making. Plans to add emoticon-only conversation for younger players are alsoin the works.

Summary:
Cubic Castles is an open-ended game packed with unlimited building, playing and exploring possibilities. This game will be one you can play on nearly any device with the same account and with all the same features. This is a fun, easily accessible MMO that anyone of any age can enjoy with endless potential to expand and grow in the future.

Cosmic Cow Games is the collaboration of three former PopCap guys developing a cute little MMO called Cubic Castles. All three of the members of the team are experienced indie developers with a lot of games out there, but this one is their favorite yet! Development on Cubic Castles began in November of 2013, open beta testing for PC and Mac started in May of 2014 and iOS testing commenced in July of 2014.

Mike Boeh is the founder of Retro64. He started with the intention of making old-school games with modern 3D graphics. Over the years, that evolved into lots of different games spanning lots of different genres. In 2007, Retro64 sold its assets to PopCap Games and the team went to work at PopCap until 2011. Following that they once again became an independent company and are dedicated to making fun games for the whole family.

Steve Verreault has been developing games since the late ’80’s. He’s released over a dozen titles, such as Aargon, Beetle Bomp, and Space Taxi 2, some independently, and others working with publishers such as iWin and Bigfish Games.

John Raptis is the darkly handsome force behind Raptisoft Games. An artist, coder and game designer, he has developed a wide range of games in many styles and genres for PC, Mac and iOS. His biggest hit is Chuzzle, the most adorable and fun to play match three game ever, which was published by Popcap Games. Other notable titles include Hoggy, Hamsterball and the Solomon Dark series: Solomon’s Keep and Solomon’s Boneyard.

Maggie Raptis is the “better half” of Raptisoft Games, the inspiration behind the genius. She is an always willing tester and over the shoulder game developer. Her love for Cubic Castles began as soon as they gave her a playable version. Dabbling in social media updates turned into trying her hand as a support publicist for the project. Of course she always makes time to find bugs and do a little building, too.
