Automation Leader Looks Forward
(March 31, 2015 – Gainesville, FL) – Florical Systems is celebrating 30 years as the trailblazer in television automation solutions. In appreciation of their loyal customer base, will have a grand 30th Anniversary Celebration this year at the NAB in Las Vegas. Join them at their NAB Booth #N5924, Monday, April 13th at 3pm as they celebrate this amazing milestone.
In the last 30 years, Florical has been busy. In 1985, the first product Florical created was TimeShifter and was kind of the TIVO of its day. Then in 1987, Florical released ShowTimer and Validator. The ShowTimer was a Traffic system for show recordings, allowing the operator to schedule recordings months in advance. The Validator worked in tandem with ShowTimer to automatically segment long form programming during a satellite recording by identifying the video of the incoming feed. Reducing the need for the operator to manually time programming; hence the name ShowTimer. In 1988, Florical released AirBoss on the MS-DOS platform and ten years later, released the Windows version of AirBoss. In 2003, Florical won Broadcast Engineering’s Excellence Award for the ShareCasting design providing the industry with a new way to centralize operations. Then in 2007, Florical won TV Technology’s Star Award for Parking Spot, one of the features in AirBoss.
Shawn Maynard, Vice President/GM at Florical Systems reflects on the achievement, “We wish to convey our sincerest gratitude to our customers for their loyal support as we celebrate 30 years of being in the TV automation business. Without the support and loyalty of our customers, we would have never made it this far. We love when we can solve a problem or provide a feature for a network or station.”
