VidiGo launches new Toolbox 2.3

Video calls to SDI, return signal and a completely new still store.

Amsterdam, March 19 – VidiGo will update its popular Toolbox product at the NAB in Las Vegas to version 2.3. The update offers video calls with any online service (Google-Hangout, Facebook , Skype etc.) direct to SDI including return signal and also features a completely new still store.

In live TV production more and more content is used directly from the desktop or the web. YouTube movies, common image formats like JPG or PNG, video in an odd codec, a selection from a web-page, power point or even a professional video interview using Google Hangout or Skype, VidiGo Toolbox handles it in just a few mouse clicks.

Since 2012 VidiGo Toolbox is the most advanced and successful solution in the industry to use desktop/web content in live TV production. Toolbox 2.3 is, again, a step further for the broadcast professional, making daily live a lot easier.

Independent video communication tool
More and more broadcasters want to use Google Hangouts or Skype to set up video calls and quickly run into the limitations of the traditional scan-converter workflows. Therefore VidiGo has further developed its tool to set up those calls in a professional TV environment.  Unlike some other products that focus on Skype only, VidiGo Toolbox can now be used with any existing online video service, present and future. Toolbox 2.3 makes it easy to communicate with a remote guest/reporter by providing professional return signal management and override (intercom) functionalities.

Complete still sore redesign
Toolbox 2.3 offers a completely new still store. The workflow to use a play list of stills in a mixed variety of formats in a live environment is simplified further. It now supports animations, like the often-used Ken Burns effect inside the play list. All new controls make it easier to select, resize, crop and rotate images before adding them to the play list.

Separate overlay for each Toolbox function
Showing relevant logos or graphics, as an overlay has never been this easy. Prepare separate overlays for multiple sources, like a YouTube logo for YouTube content or a photo of a reporter that just submitted live footage for a news show. Save valuable keyer capacity on your mixer by using the build-in  overlay function.
