April 25 NASCAR Races at Irwindale Feature Five Divisions and Six Races!

Irwindale, Calif. – – The 2015 NASCAR season at Irwindale gets into full swing this Saturday night with a full card of events featuring a pair of races for the track’s top weekly division, the Seidner’s Collision Centers Late Models.

That division is not only running for the Irwindale track championship, but for NASCAR national points as well. Fittingly enough the division comes off its first two races of the long 2015 season with a tie in the championship points; Agoura Hills’ Trevor Huddleston and Rancho Cucamonga’s Ryan Partridge each winning one feature and each finishing second to the other a few weeks ago for a pair of 98-point totals in the win column. Veteran Partridge is the 2014 Champion in this class.

Only 8 points back by virtue of a pair of good finishes in the openers (a third and a fourth) is Claremont’s Christian McGhee. Blain Perkins from Sherman Oaks and Covina-based Mike Johnson round out the top five in this ultra-competitive division at 86 and 82 points each. Close? Yeah, and the expectation for these pros is that’s how it will burn down every time that this division takes to the Irwindale oval in 2015.  And the division event has its own special version of the film of a different name …

SPECIAL FILM FEATURE: “YOUNG GUNS 2015”

Irwindale Speedway – Five under 21

Saturday night will also mark the second 2015 season appearance of the track’s very popular Pick Your Part Super Stocks. Jimmy Slone of Indio has the points lead at 50 over 2014 division champion Zack Green from Long Beach (48), with Covina’s own Greg Crutcher chiming in third place in points at 46. The always exciting Super Stocks will run a total of eight events over the 2015 season at the Speedway.

The Universal Studios Hollywood Bandoleros and the INEX Legends will both be on Saturday night’s card and will both be starting  the new 2015 season without their respective 2014 champions Ryan Vargas and Brent Scheidmantle as both have moved up in class leaving room for so fresh competition in both of these 1/3-mile divisions. This should be fun!

And finally, the touring pros of the Pick Your Part Southwest Tour Trucks will be competing in the second of their 14-race 2015 season in the first of four events scheduled for Irwindale this year. Other stops on this year’s tour include races in Madera, Tucson, Las Vegas, Bakersfield, and Blyth. Ronnie Davis will lead the SWTT’s into Irwindale with 62 points. He’s followed closely by Ed Cutler and Zack St. Onge who are tied at 55 points each. Matt Ewing and Austin Edwards round out the top five truckers with 52 and 48 points respectively.

Gates open to the public at 4p.m. on Saturday afternoon and the (free with admission) family-style on-track autograph party begins at 5:45. Racing will fire off at 7p.m. on the dot and the money-back guaranteed excitement will ensue at 7.00.01p.m.
