Insight Productions To Be Honored As Producer Of The Year
Toronto June 1, 2015—The organizers of the upcoming Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) (June 7-10 at the Banff Fairmont Springs) are announcing today the hosts for the upcoming annual Rockie Awards. Jaime Camil, star of The CW’s Golden Globe® nominated hit series Jane The Virgin is set to host the Rockie Awards Gala on Tuesday evening, June 9th. Jane The Virgin is available on shomi in Canada. The Rockies Program Competition luncheon on June 8th, which features over 26 categories in drama, documentary, kids and digital, will be hosted by Canadian American Actor Jason Priestly.
Insight Productions, one of Canada’s most renowned production companies at the forefront of the international television programming landscape, and celebrating its 35th anniversary, will receive the prestigious Producer of the Year Award presented by Lionsgate. Insight has been responsible for Canadian versions of such successful formats as The Amazing Race, Big Brother,Top Chef, Got Talent, Idol, Project Runway, Deal or No Deal, among many others, along with producing celebrated live television events like the annual JUNO Awards.
Jill Soloway, Creator and Writer of Amazon’s multi-Golden Globe award-winning seriesTransparent, and Amazon Studios are both set to be honored at BANFF. Soloway will be presented with BANFF’s Showrunner of the Year Award while Amazon Studios will be presented Banff’s Award of Innovation for their innovation and success in original programming.
Serendipity Point Films will be presenting their inaugural Award of Excellence to Katheryn Winnick, star of the breakout acclaimed series Vikings. The Award will be presented at the Gala Ceremony by Serendipity’s Chief, Robert Lantos.
As previously announced, the esteemed Company of Distinction Award will be awarded to A + E Networks and will be accepted by their President and CEO, Nancy Dubuc, who is also delivering a Keynote at the Festival.

They are chosen by over 350 professionals working in the entertainment and media industry from around the world.
