Roush Yates Engines and FORD Performance Sweep Both Xfinity Series Events at Iowa Speedway in 2015

Mooresville, NC. August 3, 2015 – Roush Yates Engines and FORD Performance completed the 2015 Iowa Speedway sweep Saturday as Ryan Blaney powered to the Xfinity Series win. Chris Buescher also won at Iowa Speedway on May 17, 2015 in his Roush Performance FORD Mustang.

“It really speaks a lot to this team,” said Blaney, “They gave me a great race car.”

Blaney would rocket to first and led 146 laps before pit stops. By lap 151, he surged to the front again and was setting fast lap times in clean air. A late race caution and pit stops would put Blaney in second on the restart but he overpowered the leader on lap 210 for first place. Two green-white-checkered attempts would bring the field together as Blaney chose to restart on the outside and both times would power to the lead by turn 1. With smoke coming from the left-rear tire, Blaney would win by three car lengths at Iowa.

Blaney led 252 of 260 laps which was more laps than the scheduled race due to cautions and multiple green-white-checkered attempts. The 252 laps led is an Iowa Speedway track record. Blaney also won his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event in 2012 at Iowa.

He now has six Top-10 finishes in 2015 including three second place finishes. In five races at Iowa Speedway, Blaney has five Top-10 finishes.

The No. 22 Team Penske Discount Tire Mustang has won the last three August Xfinity Series races at Iowa with Brad Keselowski winning two and Blaney one. The win is Blaney’s third career Xfinity Series win of his young career. Roush Yates Engines won the MAHLE Clevite Engine Builder of the Race Award with Blaney.

Roush Fenway Racing driver Chris Buescher now has a 20 point lead in Xfinity Series points with teammates Elliott Sadler in fifth, Darrell Wallace Jr. in sixth and Ryan Reed in tenth. Watkins Glen International is the next stop on the Xfinity Series
