FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND PROMISES A WEEKEND OF ART AND ENTERTAINMENT DURING THE SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMICS FESTIVAL

SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMIC FESTIVAL, presented by Famous Monsters, is looking for the next generation of great genre storytellers so their creations can be shared with the world!

The purpose of the annual SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMIC FESTIVAL is to cherry-pick burgeoning creative talent and provide an industry spotlight for the best in genre storytelling — horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and combinations of the three. The only criteria for SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMIC FESTIVAL content other than genre is to captivate the audience and inspire the imagination.

Designed to discover new talent, unite the entertainment community, and encourage genre conversation, the annual SILVER SCREAM FILM AND COMIC FESTIVAL is a three-day event comprised of film screenings, award ceremonies, runner-up prizes, social gatherings, and celebratory parties. The FESTIVAL will be hosted at the Roxy Stadium 14 Theater, located in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa, CA.

Submissions are now being accepted for three genre film categories: feature film, animation, and short film. As long as it has a Sci-Fi, horror/thriller, or fantasy element to it, we want to see it! But Silver Scream Fest is also looking for the next big idea in comics! Participants in this area of the festival can submit a completed, unpublished graphic novel, a graphic novel script, or graphic novel concept art.

Contestants can read the full rules and submit their work at http://ow.ly/Uanax

The Silver Scream Film and Comic Fest will also be celebrating some of horror’s greatest. Director John Landis and Special Effects Makeup Creator Rick Baker will be joining us for a special 35th Anniversary screening of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and a Q&A. NIGHTMARE ON ELMSTREET star Heather Landencamp will also be attending to help us host  a tribute to the late Wes Craven. Simpsons’ animator and FM scar-toonist Eric Keyes will also be in attendance for panels. Stay tuned for more guest announcements.
