FIREWORKS & NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION Plus: PICK YOUR PART NASCAR LATE MODELS! THIS SATURDAY NIGHT: JULY 2

Irwindale, Calif. – – The Speedway will get a full two-day head start on the Independence Day celebrations this year with another great night of championship NASCAR racing along with all manner of crazed “Destruction” events capped off with one of their signature spectacular fireworks shows.

Presented by Pick Your Part and Seidner’s Collision Centers, the gates will open to the public at 4PM, the family-style (bring the kids!) On-Track Autograph Party featuring all the cars, drivers, and a few surprises starts at 5:45PM and the NASCAR Late Models will rock and  roar right at 7PM.

At just two clicks past halfway in their 21-race 2016 season the Pick Your Part NASCAR Late Models are locked in a tight championship points battle that has produced some of the closest and most exciting racing seen at the Speedway this year.  Trevor Huddleston from Agoura Hills has the lead with 674 points shadowed closely by Claremont’s Christian McGhee and Woodland Hill’s Nick Joanides with 656 and 626 points respectively.  This week’s Late Model event will be a single race and will run first thing out of the box at 7PM sharp. Don’t miss it!

Fans are advised to get to the Speedway early to take part in the On-Track Autograph (and selfies) Session and then get back to their seats for a great night of pure excitement … Irwindale style!

The “Destruction” part of the evening will include both a Seidner’s Enduro and Figure 8 (!) Enduro, plus a Skid Plate Race (Seidner’s too), Auto Soccer (with a 5-foot tall, 600-pound “soccer ball”, and will conclude with one of Irwindale’s famously furious Trailer Races, where everything goes … INCLUDING the kitchen sink (really!).

It’ll be a mad4 world out there on Saturday, July 2, but it’s really all about having fun (and keeping the after-hours cleanup crew gainfully employed!).

Fans are advised to secure their tickets for this one ahead of time so they won’t have to wait in line at the ticket windows.
