GRID’s sponsorship of GODSENT will see the company’s logo feature prominently on jerseys at DreamHack Open Winter. The tournament, taking place in Jonkoping, will be the Swedish organisation’s first competition on home soil following its return as an organisation in September after a merger with The Final Tribe.

The partnership will allow GODSENT and GRID to make use of GRID’s sponsorship inventory; including data driven social content which will add context to the team’s performances in Jonkoping. The social graphics will be similar to those produced by GRID in its partnership with StarLadder at the recent CS:GO Major.

In addition, GRID is producing GODSENT’s upcoming website which will feature multiple live data components, allowing the organisation to better engage with its fan base. The website will be similar to that of the United Master’s League – which GRID also has heavy involvement in.

The partnership marks GRID’s first partnership with a team. Historically, the company has signed deals with tournament organisers – but this marks a different approach. The company aims to help teams across multiple esports titles leverage the data and assets available to enhance the company’s sponsorship proposition and brand positioning.

Mikael Westerling, VP of Business Development at GRID Esports commented: “We are very excited about the partnership and the rebirth of Godsent – one of the premium Swedish esport brands. Through the partnership we will be working closely with GODSENT to enhance the org’s sponsorship activations and revenue, as well as working to improve supporter experiences by making the Godsent website a premium viewing destination for their fans.”

Ludwig Sandgren, CEO and Co-founder of GODSENT stated: “I am really happy for this partnership as it will enable us to in collaboration with GRID build a sophisticated sponsor marketing product that is really worth its coin which also will satisfy our need for a great web page for fans. And I cannot think of a better way to launch this important partnership than with a Dreamhack LAN tournament in Sweden.”

Esports Insider says: An interesting new approach from GRID with the sponsorship of a team. As the esports landscape continues to grow and develop, it’s clear that data will play an imperative part. The work previously undertaken by GRID clearly has multiple applications and we’re excited to see the underlying tech applied in a team environment & how it can help an individual brand.
