DMAX Turkey will distribute licensed content, exclusively in the Turkish language both on linear and digital channels, for ESL One Cologne, IEM New York, the Rio Major, and the ESL National Championship Turkey – all of which are slated to take place online.

Frank Uddo, Senior Vice President Global Media at ESL, spoke on the agreement in a release: “We are excited about commencing our partnership with DMAX Turkey. Kicking-off in Turkey with such a strong partner will truly bring esports closer to the fans. As DMAX is a highly professional broadcaster to work with, we are hoping to further foster esports within the country going forward reaching a broad audience in Turkey via DMAX’ established channels.”

Since ESL Pro Tour’s inception, DreamHack and ESL have established a host of media rights deals for specific regions. The tournament organisers have deals in place that cover territories such as Brazil, China, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Norway, Finland, Russia & CIS, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Unai Iparragirre, VP of FTA Channels Turkey & VP of Editorial Development EMEA, added: “I am very excited to announce this new collaboration with ESL and DreamHack. Many DMAX viewers are big fans of esports, and thanks to this partnership, DMAX will become the new home of esports in Turkey and we will broadcast exclusively a number of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments starting with ESL One Cologne, which will take place between August 18-30.”

Esports Insider says: ESL and DreamHack have done great on the broadcasting front since forming the Pro Tour, though financial terms aren’t public. It seems a safe assumption that media rights is a growing revenue stream for parent company MTG and we expect to see such deals continue to grow in length in the next couple of years.
