AIMS members host IP interoperability demonstrations at NAB

Highlighting the adoption of the AIMS open standards approach to IP at this year’s NAB Show will be the live IP interoperability demonstrations on member companies’ booths. throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center. These are showcasing interoperability of technologies that support the drive to standardized open protocols in the transition to fully IP based broadcast media workflows.
Most members will be showcasing IP solutions on their booths. This includes a broad range of multi-vendor live interoperability demonstrations hosted by Arista Networks (booth #SL13905), EVS (booth #SL3816), Grass Valley (booth #SL106), Harmonic (booth #SU1210), Imagine Communications (booth #N2502) and Nevion (booth #SU5510).

Fox Networks Group and Evertz Join AIMS

Fox Networks Group and Evertz have joined the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) to help foster the adoption of common standards for delivery and distribution of video, audio, and metadata over IP.
Fox and Evertz have pledged to support the initiative undertaken by the Video Services Forum (VSF) on TR-03 aimed at standardizing the transport of media through identifying a common interface and protocol to be adopted by all equipment vendors. Recognizing the rapid adoption of IP as the emerging broadcast platform of choice, Fox and Evertz will actively work within AIMS to help insure full IP interoperability for content exchange among vendors and will actively assist in achieving this goal. The companies have joined AIMS with the intent of achieving industry-wide harmonization and rapid evolution towards full IP interoperability.

Sony joins AIMS

Sony has joined the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS). The company announced it had “joined the AIMS initiative to promote the adoption of widely supported, open standards to foster IP-based interoperability and further industry migration to IP-based platforms” at its NAB April 17 press conference.
