SET Breakfast @ NAB Show is celebrating 25 years participating at the event


In 20, April,  congress will discuss “Evolve or Die (Charles Darwin). What is the future of broadcast TV?”

LAS VEGAS, April – SET is participating in yet another edition of the NAB Show 2016, with a tailor-made appointment for the event, with the aim of developing further ties between the US and Brazilian broadcasting and new media markets.  “Our presence at NAB is similar to that of a development agency, but we are engaged in the field of ideas, debate and the exchange of experiences and knowledge”, according to SET president Olímpio J. Franco.

The agenda that SET has put together for the NAB Show is the outcome of 25 years of experience participating at the event.  It is centered on the conference specially created for the US fair: SET Breakfast @ NAB  Show, an exclusive SET conference that brings together world’s leading broadcasters to discuss the major trends and technological innovations in the field.

Some features of this editions are “Challenges and solutions for broadcast TV”, “Beyond TV: innovative distribution formats”  and “CBS All Access”, by Robert P. Seidel, vice president of CBS Engineering and Advanced Technology, president of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), as well as a Fellow of SMPTE and a member of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE).

Brodcasters will discuss important issues such as “Evolve or Die (Charles Darwin). What is the future of broadcast TV?”, “Advances in HDTV in Europe”,  by  Simon Fell, director of Tecnology and Innovation at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), “Preparation Status of Terrestrial UHDTV Service – Korea”, by Young-Woo Su, deputy director of Mobile/DTV Team, KBS and  “8K Technology in Japan”, by  Reiko Kondo,  director for Digital Broadcasting Technology – Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Recent Technological Innovations in Video Over IP Transmission & Distribution.

SET Breakfast @ NAB Show conference always gets under way at 6:30 a.m. and ends at around 9:00 a.m. and involves around 400 people.

The SET Stand at the NAB Show will put on SET events and activities for professionals visiting the exhibition pavilion.

Together with the US Consulate-General in São Paulo, SET organizes every year the official participation of the Brazilian delegation at the NAB Show.  Participants in the Brazilian delegation have access to support during the event, including an area with computers, internet, coffee, water and meeting tables.
